Unfortunately, my parents want to stick with AOL. But I DON'T. I WANT AN ISDN CONNECTION OR A T1 CONNECTION. I saw one and they only cost $49.99 PER MONTH!!! FOR AN ISDN!!!!! They even have 30 MB of FREE web space!!! An email address!!! And a WHOLE LOT MORE!!!!!! AOL?? $23.99 + $5 billing fee!!! What do you get?? 2MB of web space strictly restricted of ZIP files, little or no service, a lousy connection, lagging, and much more retarded things about it that you can think about. What do i get that's good? NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I MEAN BARELY ANYTHING AT ALL.

WHY IS AOL THE WORLD'S #LAST?

(Note: if they're not on here please click HERE.)

Service:

Look at their service!! I asked them to reply back to me for a simple question LAST YEAR but they never did. I am upset. AOL say they're online 24 hours a day and give you support. I say it's bullshit. No AOL staff is gonna reply to you right away anytime, anywhere. Sometimes they don't reply at all!!! They say they're the world's #1, but they are now ending up in the #last.

Zero Tolerance and Censorship:

The internet is supposed to be a like "democracy", but with AOL its "dictatorship". You are restricted for what you are doing. You can't use some words, nor you couldn't talk about some topics. There is always an inequality between AOL staff and its user. The AOL staff has zero tolerance at you all the time, any time. You have to be tolerant to the AOL community or else.. you know what's gonna happen. They don't care what you're doing. They don't care whether you're almost done with a 100 MB download, they don't care if you're using the internet. All they do, is that they disconnects your AOL connection whenever you do something bad, like scrolling and etc. And during this if you're really downloading something 100MB, then all they're gonna say is "Well, too bad."

The Terms of Service:

The Terms of service is what everyone have to obey in order to keep their connection alive. No one really cares about it, especially hackers. The AOL Terms of service keeps you from doing what you want, I mean not cuss words, not scrolling, no virus. It blocks a whole lot more than that. It blocks a whole lot of words (90) that cannot be used in chat room names nor screen names. It is completely messed up. I don't call it the terms of service, I call it the TOTALLY OBNOXIOUS SHIT.

The software in AOL

Speaking about software, anything in AOL is kick-ass shareware. If you dare to upload a full version software, ROMs, or even emulators they won't let you do it. If you spend your time uploading a full version software thats 14 MB then the stupid people who are in charge of this is just gonna delete your email. They say that they're out of room for people to upload map files (for games like Warcraft II, Red Alert, and more). Well bullshit!! If you're making mucho money, then why don't you go buy your company some bigger hard drives??? And if you ask them why they won't allow this and that they'll just ignore it. Any warez or zip files uploaded via ftp to your web space will also be removed once they see it. Also, AOL has a lot of out of date software, which some got deleted but still show up in the file directory.

Endless Ads and pop up windows

One of the most hated things in AOL, ads and pop up windows. They're usually useless. At most one of every 100 people buy stuff from AOL, so these ads become useless. Instead, it wastes loading time, which is already valuable in AOL. These windows sometimes cannot be closed, such as the welcome screen, which can be a pain.  These ads are closed by the AOL members, since they did not want to see them. When surfing on the internet using an AOL browser, if there is a pop up banner in that site, and you're trying to add that site to your favorite places, then you will end up bookmarking the banner instead of that site. Try it if you don't believe me.

You could be or viewed, banned, or robbed at any time

AOL staff has a special version of AOL. That is, when you log on to it and go to Keyword: OnlineCRIS, they'll find out who's online and who's not. They'll also find out everyone's credit card number and billing information and their passwords. If you are violating the TOS, then they'll deactivate your account or something like that. Usually they wont do anything harmful to your account, but some day, someone just might sneak into your account and do something with it....

AOL's Poor software

AOL has made its own software. It is poor and unreliable. Everything loads slower than usual, and one day you might find it crashed. Switching your screen name loses your connection to the internet, things sometimes will not load, thus causing a frozen AOL, and a whole lot more which I will explain in my 210 reasons why AOL sucks. The AOL browser is the worst. It makes the AOL connection freeze when you go in FTP, some sites, and a whole lot more. The browser is NOT compatible with downloaders like Go!Zilla or GetRight, nor it is compatible with IE's Favorites. The browser lacks compatibility to a lot of web sites, and it lacks functionality.  It also takes a lot of space, and if you try to delete anything, it will not work. This is why people like to sue AOL for their crappy software. Worst of all, it can even lock up your computer.

AOL's Lousy connections

AOL's connections to the internet it EXTREMELY terrible. The server is like to reset due to some faults, and sometimes disconnect by itself. If you're not using AOL, even if you're using another browser or downloading from the internet, it will ask you to click ok or it will log you off. When you try to log on to AOL again, busy signals come up and you'll never get connected until maybe 1 hour later or sometihng. AOL needs to provide more access numbers and connection retries. Still, AOL is being sued for lousy connections and busy signals. You try several times but it will not work. Don't worry, keep trying until you log on. And stay on for a while. Even if you're idle if you open the kill AOL timer program it will automatically kill idle signals and stuff like that. You may Download the KILL AOL TIMER program at anytime. It is DOS self-extracting.

Once again,
